2008NASH introduces Code of Ethics for Members.
 National Benchmarking Workshop held in Melbourne with key industry representatives from around Australia and NZ on conclusion ICIP Benchmarking project.

 The NASH Standard forms the basis for Southern African Light Steel Frame Building Assocation (SASFA) Code for Low-rise Light Steel Framing and the New Zealand Standard.

2007NASH celebrates 25th anniversary.

NSW Chapter promotes steel framing termite-proof qualities with a display at HIA/PICA Termite Showcase in Sydney.
NASH has discussions with ABS Director of Economic Statistics re providing steel framing market share statistics.
NASH makes submission to SAA against the mandatory screwing of brick ties to steel framing.
NASH HQ handles 550 enquiries from the public and members.
2000Steel framing market reaches about 8%.
 NASH publishes enabling booklet Directory of Suppliers, Products & Services targeting consumers and builders.
 NASH represented on the newly formed ABCB Housing Code Review Committee.
 NASH makes submissions to NSW Department of Fair Trading regarding "whole-of-house protection" in its consumer publications.
 NASH makes representations to QLD Building Services Authority re pro-timber bias in its literature on termite protection to consumers & builders.
 NASH participates in industry workshops by Building Codes QLD (BCQ) re proposed termite control variations in BCA.
 NASH raises "whole-of-house" issue with Australian Consumers Association (ACA).
 NASH makes submission to WA Government re timber industry in WA enjoying an unfair advantage by not having to pay royalties on land used during logging operations - subsequently gets a reasonable outcome.

1999Steel framing market share adversely affected by withdrawal of BHP House Framing from the market.     
 CTA publishes all new national competency standards for registered training organisations.
 SA Chapter implements a comprehensive sub-contractor training program, and develops strong links with the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS).
 QLD Chapter installs promotional static display at Home Ideas Centre, Brisbane.
 WA Chapter installs promotional display at Homebase Wembley, Perth.
 NASH publishes full colour promotional booklet Home Builders & Buyers Guide to Steel-Framed Construction.

1998NASH measures steel framing market share at 7.5% by survey.  
 NASH submission to BCA based on sound research, leads to amendment allowing use of steel framing as close as 300m to breaking surf, much closer than the previous 1km.
 NASH promotes steel framing via a display stand at Interbuild Building Exhibition in Melbourne.
 NASH studies termite damage and obtains some valuable information on frequency of attack and damage.  This information becomes the basis for lobbying against the regulated "whole of house" concept.
1997NASH inducts three life members and redesigns website. 
 NASH conducts survey of members' capabilities for inclusion in database to enable more effective handling of enquiries from the public.
 NASH HQ from AISC North Sydney to Homebush.
 QLD Chapter provides material for Construction Training Australia's (CTA) development of new national competency-based training packages for steel wall framing and steel roof trusses, which meet ANTA requirements.
1996ABCB publishes Building Code of Australia (BCA 96), in which a steel-framed house is not required to be defended by termite barriers.
 SAA publishes AS/NZS 4600:1996 Cold-formed Steel Structures Code.
 NASH promotes steel framing at Interbuild Victoria Exhibition.
 SA Chapter produces Steel-Framed Housing Compendium containing information about SA suppliers, products and services, and promotional booklets Steel Framed Home - Design & Construction and Steel Framed Home - Ownership.

1995Market share for steel framing reaches 10% in the mid-90s, partly due to high timber prices.  
 NASH submits draft document Steel-Framed Housing for inclusion in the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
 NRAAVC bans the use of the long-life organochlorine-based chemicals for termite control.
 AISC publishes The Use of Steel in Homes containing a section on steel-framed housing. NASH launches its first web site.

1994NASH establishes party to produce input for the first Building Code of Australia.

 Instructional videos for builders and owner builders produced and launched.
 NASH provides new training material for NSW TAFE Western Sydney Region.

NASH incorporates as a not-for-profit organisation.  
 AISC and NASH publish book Structural Performance Requirements for Domestic Steel Framing.
 NASH and AISC, with input from CSIRO, prepare draft Domestic Metal Framing Standard. 
 NASH establishes working group to examine feasibility of producing a prescriptive Steel Framing Manual for builders.

1991

NASH and BHP Steel produce a suggested outline for a "domestic steel framing code" for Standards Australia.
1990NASH restructured and renamed National Association of Steel-Framed Housing to recognise broader scope.
1988SAA publishes AS 1538-1988 Cold Formed Steel Structures Code.
 AISC publishes Design of Cold Formed Steel Structures (to AS1538-1988).
 NASH deploys updated Steel House Framing training manuals and framing components to NSW TAFE.
1986BHP Steel, with NASH support, launches Steel Shield Insurance Package for Homes Built of Steel.
1985NASH, with BHP Steel and AZDA, deploys first Steel House Framing training manual to TAFE institutes.
1982NASH inaugurated as "National Association of Steel House Framing". All activity voluntary. Steel market share 2 - 3%.
